The Beatles legend - who split from Heather in May 2006 after a four-year marriage - is said to be worried about four-year-old Beatrice after Heather sensationally claimed Paul has done nothing to protect them from death threats in a series of TV interviews.
A source said: “Paul fears Heather has lost the plot and needs help. She claimed to the world her life was at risk and he is understandably concerned about the safety of his daughter.
“Going for full custody is a last resort but he is really scared for his child. He doesn’t feel he has a choice. He also is worried about her being psychologically damaged by their increasingly public divorce.”
Paul allegedly contacted his lawyers on Friday (02.11.07) to prepare his case for full custody, after a heated meeting with Heather.
The musician was reportedly outraged when Heather, 39, demanded he hand over his beloved £12 million Peasmarsh estate in their divorce settlement because it has a state-of-the-art security system.
He was also said to be saddened by the former model’s threats to “tell the world the truth” about their failed marriage.

Scott Kohler, 29, claims he and a group of 10 other strangers were invited to join Britney Spears for a night of heavy partying on 19 October (07), when the troubled star drowned her sorrows with vodka and cavorted with the men in her jacuzzi.
And musician Kohler alleges the 25-year-old singer accepted an offer of cocaine from a fellow partygoer, after he “joked he wanted to do a line off (Spears’) chest, and she agreed”, reports British newspaper The Sun.
Kohler adds, “(Spears) was in a great mood. She didn’t have a care in the world”.
The latest revelations will be a blow to Spears as she fights her ex-husband Kevin Federline for custody of two-year-old Sean Preston and one-year-old Jayden James.
She has since won back visitation rights to see her two boys three times a week, but must comply with an earlier court order to undergo mandatory drug and alcohol tests and well as attend joint parenting sessions with dancer Federline.
The former couple’s next custody hearing is set for 26 November (07).

The Eagles star Don Henley has defended the band’s decision to strike a distribution deal with U.S. supermarket chain Wal-Mart.
The group’s new album, Long Road Out Of Eden, will be sold exclusively through the retailers in North America, but the band has been criticised for working with the supermarket giant due to Henley’s credentials as a long-time environmental activist.
The new album also includes critical references to American consumerism and big business - with many fans accusing The Eagles of hypocrisy.
But Henley is convinced their relationship with Wal-Mart can help in the fight for green issues.
He says, “You would have thought we made a deal with the devil. We caught plenty of flak. Some of my environmental friends are a little upset because we made this deal. But on the other hand, I have a direct line now to the Ceo of Wal-Mart.
“We’re certainly making our feelings known in terms of ecological stewardship and some of the practices of big business that are undesirable and wasteful”.

‘The X Factor’ winner - who broke records with her debut single ‘A Moment Like This’ after she won the ITV reality show last year - is already outselling her biggest chart rivals Take That by two-to-one.
More than 3,000 people snapped up ‘Bleeding Love’ in the first hour after it had been released on Monday (22.10.07).

The ‘Bleeding Love’ video - which shows stunning Leona in curve-hugging Dolce and Gabanna dresses - is attracting an average of 150 views a minute worldwide on video sharing website YouTube.
The promo also received three million views online in the first 24 hours it was available.
If Leona is still number one when the top 10 selling singles in the UK are announced on Sunday (28.10.07), she will become the first ‘The X Factor’ winner to reach the top spot with a second single.

Troubled star Britney Spears has spent some quality time with her children in her first court-supervised visit since losing her custody battle to ex-husband Kevin Federline.
The singer was due to see Sean Preston, two, and Jayden James, one, last Thursday (04Oct07), but the visit was scrapped. It was suggested Spears did not want the court-appointed monitor to enter her house, reports the New York Daily News.
The children were taken to Spears’ Malibu home on Monday (08Oct07), where they walked around the grounds with their mother.
This follows reports that Spears had passed her first court-imposed drug test with flying colours.
The troubled pop star, who is required to undergo testing under the terms of her ongoing child custody battle with ex-husband Kevin Federline, took the test this weekend (06/07Oct07), according to tmz.
Sources also claim the singer spent the time with her two young sons, Sean Preston and Jayden James, and a parenting coach, who will determine whether the Toxic singer is fit to be a mother.
Spears lost physical custody of her sons last week (ends05Oct07) after Federline’s attorney revealed the singer was snubbing her nose at a series of court-imposed demands in the case.

MelB the 32-year-old singer - who is currently competing on the US TV show ‘Dancing with the Stars’ - joked years of performing on stage with the girl band hasn’t helped her prepare for the celebrity talent series because the moves were so simple.
She said: “Well, the Spice Girls performed routines for six-year-olds. Everyone can do it!”
Mel praised her fellow competitor Jane Seymour, who decided to continue with the show despite her beloved mother dying last week.
She added to US chat show host Ellen DeGeneres: “Surprisingly, yes, she is still going on with the show. She’s garnered the strength together. But I think she was doing it for her mother. So more power to her.”
The star also admitted she was “amazed” when tickets for the upcoming ‘The Return of the Spice Girls’ world reunion tour sold out in minutes.
She said: “I was amazed. I did actually think, ‘How is that possible. Is there a lot of people on the phone in one big room?’ I don’t get it. I was really shocked.

Prince opened the historic show with ‘I Feel For You’ and ‘Controversy’, both of which were broadcast live on TV channel Sky News in a deal which saw the star allow the station access to the concert for free.
Fans were given purple glow-sticks upon entering the arena, and as the flamboyant musician took to the stage in total darkness the venue was lit up by a sea of lights.
Throughout the night the sell-out crowd screamed Prince’s name and the star seemed genuinely touched by their adoration.
As he played ‘Kiss’, he said: “This is confusing. The quicker I go through these hits, the sooner I’ll be gone. I’m not trying to go nowhere, I love it in London!”
Before launching into a medley of hits, which included ‘Little Red Corvette’ and ‘I Would Die 4 U’, alone on the piano, he said: “Thank you London
